The Vista arrived in beautiful Sydney Harbor just before sunrise on April 9th, Day 33 of our journey. Two piers are available in Sydney: one for ships that can pass under their iconic bridge and another supposedly newer and better for those ships too tall to pass under the bridge. Another reason I like the smaller ships. Pity those poor blokes who paid all that money to come to Sydney but didn't get to sail under perhaps the most famous bridge in the world. Determined to capture this event, I arose very early, armed myself with my iPhone 13 & took my position on my veranda. Enjoy the beautiful scenes, as I did...

My excursion of choice was a tour by bus of the city and by boat of the Harbor. (Warren & I, along with Bill & Brenda Lee, visited Sydney in 2008 and thus, I had already done much of what was offered in the many excursions, but my opinion is that one can never tire of the beauty this city has to offer). Our primary guide, Nyles, was in charge of the land portion, but proved himself to be totally useless, spending way too much time "teaching" us the various pronunciations of the same word by all of the English-speaking peoples. Too bad, there is so much unique to Sydney that he could have imparted to us. Then, there was Kylee aboard the Harbor Cruiser, a total one-eighty from Nyles! Unfortunately, I was far too busy drinking in the sights to retain most of the information she dispensed.

Our bus driver, contrary to Nyles, was a pleasure. While stopped for one of the fabulous photo ops (when I returned to the bus after taking my pictures), we struck up a conversation. He apologized for the discomfort of the bus, explaining "these are very proud prices for these homes and I do not wish to disturb them any more than necessary with the sound of engines." Thoughtful of him. I explained, "I'm from Texas, so this isn't hot." From that point, he was the one asking questions - about Texas, the ship, the duration of the cruise, etc. By our last stop, he had decided that he didn't think he could not smoke for that length of time. I never cease to be amazed by the vast number of people who smoke! Sorry I didn't get a shot of him, he was a very pleasant alternative to Nyles. Basically all this is to say: I have little information to depart, so just enjoy all the beautiful iconic shots from "Down Under!"

Today is Someday! Appreciate the Beauty Wherever You Are!
