Part of my wonderful Bon Voyage package was not available in San Francisco presumably due to the unusually bad weather in that area, but the weather was perfect when we were in Acapulco yesterday so now my stateroom is filled with their wonderful smell. I could have almost ended that sentence with "now my stateroom is filled." You may notice the arrangement is almost as large as the loveseat. Thank you, thank you.
Having already seen the cliff divers on my previous voyage as well as most of the other important sites, I chose to remain on board yesterday. While on board and many of the other passengers were not, I paid another visit to our computer guru, Alex, for yet another lesson on posting pictures to this blog. Yes, Michele, I still didn't get it despite your helpful notes, repeated lessons, etc. They have all been very helpful to Alex, however, as he was not familiar with this blog site. So, all was not in vain.
As I was enjoying breakfast, I noticed this old fort alongside the pier. It seems the Dutch almost destroyed it in the 1700s only for it to be rebuilt, to be partially destroyed again, rebuilt again and apparently used today as a museum though one can still see the cannon pointed out to sea. Pity there was no tour available for it that I could find.
Second photo down is the obligatory lighthouse captured for my lighthouse fanatic. I shall attempt to capture every one I see along the way. Should be quite a collection by the time I get back home.
Then the final shot is obviously sunset for my sunrise/sunset fanatics. Although the sun was out of sight by the time I was able to snap the photo, still a beautiful shot. Not sure whether the ship in the distance is cruise or cargo. We were the only cruise ship in port. This was only a few miles south of Acapulco as we headed to our next port, Puerto Chiapas, Mexico where I finally make it to the Chocolate City. These excursions were booked for the most part months ago and I have awaken almost every morning with the idea that tomorrow is the chocolate excursion. Much anticipated events rarely live up to their expectations, but I am still eagerly awaiting my time in Chocolate City. I mean really, who would not? Unless one is allergic to chocolate.
Last night I dined in one of the specialty restaurants, The Polo Grill with a delightful couple from near Philadelphia. It seems they are part of a Trivia Team who is still in need of more members. Even though I could not answer a single question they could remember from past games, they still magnanimously invited me to join their team, "The Sharks." Perhaps I will know an answer or two tonight. Off now to give it a try. Wish me luck.
Today IS Someday! Enjoy It!
